A leading investment bank based in New York is looking for a senior Finance Manager with the profile below.Job Purpose:
The role holder manages and performs business finance support and critical control processes for the Corporate Finance and Capital Markets businesses in the Americas.Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Provides finance support for the Americas Corporate Finance and Capital Markets deal teams. This includes producing monthly financials and business MIS for various product heads and CF Americas head, highlighting key trends and potential risks and opportunities. Responds to issues and ad-hocs on a timely basis and also providing commentary on significant business drivers to management.2. Provides advice and guidance on finance issues, including new deals and development of new products, to ensure that the business complies with internal control policies and procedures, taxation, capital, regulatory and statutory accounting requirements.
3. Manages the monthly General Ledger closing. Works with the global Product Control teams and Chennai support team to ensure Actual vs. Flash process is performed properly each month. Responsible for month end PeopleSoft General Ledger journal postings, Pipeline revenues and Balance Sheet reporting and monthly review and substantiation of the business balance sheet.
4. Develops accurate bottoms-up view of annual business budget and quarterly forecasts for revenue, cost, RWA and balance sheet.
5. Responsible for the write-up of accounting memos for new Corporate Finance deals.
6. Responsible for the review of CF Deal wise for the Americas along with Performance Management Information (PMI) and Risk Management Information (RMI) outputs, ensuring data quality and that Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) reported is accurate. Responsible for any RWA adjustments for the CF and CM businesses.
7. Interacts with various finance stakeholders (eg, Country Finance, Finance Systems, Tax, etc) on ensuring that any regulatory and/or financial reporting query is answered on a timely and accurate manner.
8. Responsible for the review of daily Global PMC and FM P&L commentary.
Qualifications & Skills
* Graduate of Accounting or Finance equivalent ( preferred CPA holder)* 7 years relevant experience within Financial Institutions ( preferred Corporate Finance background)
* Accounting experience and knowledge of product control, managing general Ledger, managing annual business budget and quarterly forecasts for revenue, cost and balance sheet.
* Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deliverable in a timely and effective manner in a very fast pace environment.
* Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint (MS Project preferable)
* Excellent analytical and Finance skills, with proven ability to interpret, analyse and present financial information and performance metrics.
* Project management skills to undertake, supervise and monitor specific projects and events.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Ability to take the initiative and a strong desire to learn
